CLARE and Limerick do battle in the Munster SHC final for the third year in a row with all roads (well most of them!) leading to Semple Stadium in Thurles this weekend.

Limerick are chasing a sixth Munster championship in a row and Clare are vying for provincial honours for the first time since 1998 and this is the discussion on the latest episode of The Water Break.

To look ahead to the game we’re joined by PJ ‘Fingers’ O’Connell who was part of the 1998 Munster winning side and he also claimed All-Ireland titles in 1995 and 1997 and by Leo Doyle, currently the voice of sport on Scariff Bay Community Radio but before that a man who represented Clare between the posts and served as a selector with the Clare minor hurlers.

On the clár:

  • What team should Clare line out with
  • Who misses out for Tony Kelly and David McInerney to return
  • Seamus Flanagan’s absence for Limerick and who will enter the fray
  • Sporting controversies
  • Psychological impact of the team’s first round meeting
  • Final quarter fade and how it can be addressed
  • Where Sunday’s game will be won and lost
