CHAMPIONSHIP GLORY has been tasted by Clonlara and Corofin who have won the senior and intermediate hurling championships.

Clonlara’s first title in fifteen years is the big talking point on the latest episode of The Water Break.

Ross O’Donoghue is joined by two-time All-Ireland winner, Michael O’Halloran who was part of Sixmilebridge’s management this year and has experience of preparing to face both Clonlara and Crusheen in this year’s campaign. Current Doon manager, Fergie O’Loughlin who coached Clarecastle to win the 2003 Clare SHC and former Clare and Clonlara hurler Oisin O’Brien who has coached St Joseph’s Doora/Barefield’s hurlers and the Clare minors also join the show.

We hear from the victorious Clonlara camp including John Conlon, Donal Madden, Dylan McMahon and Micheál O’Loughlin.

Corofin’s return to the senior ranks is also discussed as they overcame the stern challenge of Sixmilebridge’s second string on Saturday afternoon.

On the Clár:

  • Enjoyable finals
  • Standout players
  • Unbeaten Clonlara are worthy champions
  • Reflections for Crusheen
  • Crusheen’s strong start didn’t materialise in the county final
  • Strength of Clonlara’s defence
  • Shape of Clonlara’s attack
  • Was a Crusheen comeback possible
  • Policies on freetakers celebrating
  • How can Clonlara fare in the Munster club
  • Dual senior status for Corofin
