FOCUS is now completely on the club scene with the race underway for the TUS Clare senior hurling championship.

From round one, Clonlara looked best poised to retain their title with Éire Óg and Scariff among the standout sides.

Ross O’Donoghue is joined on The Water Break by former Clare minor hurling selector Liam O’Reilly and ex Clare underage development mentor Pat McNamara to look back on the opening round of the Clare SHC.

On the agenda:

  • Clonlara stronger now than last year
  • Éire Óg get the tactics right in one point win
  • Blooding new talent by Éire Óg
  • Clooney/Quin’s choices with equalising chances
  • Feakle’s physicality and talent does the business again
  • Touch and tactics costly for Cratloe
  • Kilmaley lay down a marker
  • Tough opening hour for Corofin in top tier
  • Broadford’s new guns set the way
  • Mills need to get better supply to lively forwards
  • Scariff one of the standout sides from round one
  • Rudderless display from Inamona
  • Crusheen’s first half foundations
  • Newmarket-on-Fergus fall short
  • Seasoned Sixmilebridge get going
  • Doora/Barefield capable of doing damage
  • Clare IHC wrap
