THIS September marked the first anniversary of Callinan Coaches’ acquisition of The GREEN Bus by Dublin Coach, completing a year of significant investment, growth and development across the business.

For The GREEN Bus, the Midwest is much more than part of a national route network. Ennis is the operational home of Route 300, one of our busiest services, and Clare and Limerick are home to many of the people who keep that service moving every day. Over the past year, we have continued to invest in our Ennis operations and depot facilities while supporting employment across driving, operations and other roles. We also work with and purchase from local businesses and suppliers wherever possible, ensuring that our investment in the region extends beyond the services we operate.

That local relationship works both ways. The support The GREEN Bus receives from the people of Clare – from our passengers and employees to local suppliers and businesses – has been hugely important to the growth of our operation.

Route 300 provides vital connectivity through Ennis and Limerick to Dublin, supporting people travelling for employment, education, business, appointments and leisure. Our first year under Callinan Coaches has also been about looking forward. Investment has continued across our fleet, facilities, technology and operations, with a particular emphasis on reliability and improving the passenger experience. Digital innovation is increasingly important. Passengers can track their bus in real time, manage bookings online and access services through The GREEN Bus app.

As the business grows, so does the need to attract and retain good people. Transport is a 24-hour, 365-day industry, and behind every journey is a team of drivers, mechanics, operations personnel, customer service staff and support teams. Developing that workforce and creating sustainable employment will remain central to our plans. Sustainability is equally important. Encouraging more people to choose shared public transport can reduce the number of individual cars making longer journeys, while reliable regional connectivity helps ensure employment and economic opportunity are not concentrated solely in our largest cities.

As we enter our second year under Callinan Coaches, our commitment to the Midwest is to continue investing, in our people, our facilities, our services and the communities that support us.

The growth achieved over the past year would not have been possible without our passengers, employees and local partners. We are proud to call Ennis the home of Route 300 and proud of the role Clare continues to play in the future of The GREEN Bus.
