ONE of West Clare’s most prominent stores has been shortlisted for an excellence award.

Talty’s MACE Lissycasey has been shortlisted for the Excellence in Fresh Food Retailing in a Convenience Store category at the Checkout National Grocery Retail Awards 2024.

The National Grocery Retail Awards annually highlight best in class performance in retailing and honour the companies and suppliers that help Ireland’s pioneering stores and retail chains to achieve levels of service and product excellence that set them apart from their competitors.

Complimenting the team in Talty’s, MACE Sales Director Keith Crawford said, “I want to offer my wholehearted congratulations to the Talty family and all the team in Talty’s MACE Lissycasey on being shortlisted for this award. The whole team is so very deserving of this acknowledgement, and they are great champions for the MACE brand”.

In 2019, Talty’s became the first Mace store in Ireland to install solar panels on its roof and in May 2020 it sold the winning ticket in the National Lottery which had a jackpot of €4m. The store which was opened by TJ and Máire celebrated fifty years in existence this year.
