*The matter was discussed at the April meeting of Clare County Council. ELECTED members of Clare County Council were told to “be cautious” with a proposal to base ambulance units at fire stations in Ennis, Kilrush and Shannon.

*A formal objection has been lodged by councillors. EAST CLARE councillors have formally objected to plans to extract water from the River Shannon to pipe Dublin’s leaking water network and have received the backing of fellow councillors from across the county for their stance.

*Finnangh Junction. REPORTS of incidents and near misses have been common place for decades at Finnangh Junction linking Ennis to the Quin Rd but an increase in vehicular traffic has also been reported since the opening of the nearby Banner Plaza.
