McEntee wins Curley’s Lady Captain’s Prize in Ennis

Pink Pony Club. Winner of the Captain’s Prize at Dromoland Golf Club, Niall O’Connor better known as Pony surrounded by two of his supporters, Frank Melody and Niall Woods. NEWMARKET-ON-Fergus senior hurler Niall O’Connor showed his versatility last weekend when he won captain John O’Neill’s prize at Dromoland Castle golf club.
In the medal stroke competition at Dromoland last week the winner was Ann Nix with 69, one ahead of Frances Bergin with Joan Dunne in third place with 71 followed by Sheila Kent with 72. Mairead Toomey won the gross with 86.
Sixty nine teams supported the Art Data Centres (Tom McNamara) sponsored Clare football golf classic at Woodstock on Thursday and Friday last.
The Easter open team of three competition at East Clare Golf Club was well supported and produced some impressive scores.
Ennis won back the Costello Cup when they accounted for holders Woodstock on a score of 213 points to 191 at Ennis last Sunday.
On Sunday, the annual Costello cup fixture, a scotch foursomes competition, between Woodstock and Ennis will take place at Ennis with tee times available between 9.30am and 11am.

BRIGHT sunshine was the order of the day as the Woodstock captains for 2025 ‘drove-in’ to office last Sunday.
THE captain’s drive-in for 2025 at Woodstock Golf Club will take place this Sunday at 3pm.
