TERRACE TICKETS for the Munster senior hurling final between Clare and Limerick sold out in minutes.

Less than twenty five minutes after a link to purchase terrace tickets for TUS Gaelic Grounds went online, the entire allocation of 11,000 had sold out via Ticketmaster, Centra and SuperValu outlets according to Munster GAA.

Stand tickets will be distributed through respective County Boards with clubs in Clare and Limerick to hold draws among their members who have expressed an interest in obtaining what will be a coveted ticket.

Supporters have expressed frustration after they encountered technical difficulties when trying to access the link from Ticket Master to purchase terrace tickets. Some of these individuals had been in the online queue from 11:00am and other 11:30am before the ticket link went live at 12pm and were still unable to access tickets.

Centra and SuperValu stores which had a limited supply of terrace tickets also experienced a system crash due to the demand in persons trying to secure tickets online.

A spokesperson for Munster GAA told The Clare Echo, “Regarding issues for those logging in to purchase tickets online, our partners in Ticketmaster have reported no problems at their end with 9,000 tickets sold in the first five minutes with the remainder sold via participating Centra and Supervalu outlets. Stand tickets and the remaining terrace tickets will be distributed through the participating County Boards only”.

Munster GAA have been contacted for comment by The Clare Echo in relation to the difficulties experienced by Clare supporters.

Speaking on Clare FM’s Morning Focus, Clare GAA Chairman, Kieran Keating stated not all terrace tickets would be made available for sale online. “Only terrace tickets are going on sale today, not all terrace tickets are going on sale, some of them are going to the clubs but it will not be a big chunk of them. Some people have misread it, clubs don’t only have stand tickets, the club allocation will go out later today or tomorrow and will have some terrace and some stand but it is only terrace tickets which are going on sale today.

“The Caherdavin end which is probably the Clare Rd End on TicketMaster is where the Clare supporters generally congregate. There is big demand, these tickets are more scarce than Thurles last year and will be precious commodities in a week’s time,” Keating added.

It will be the first time Clare and Limerick meet in the provincial final at the Gaelic Grounds since 1955.
