Signage is to be erected warning motorists of the “narrow bridge” on the R352 at Ballinagough in Whitegate.

It follows an appeal from Cllr Pat Burke (FG) to alert drivers to the potential risks as they travel along the road, his motion was seconded by Cllr Joe Cooney (FG).

“This signage will be installed as soon as the Killaloe Municipal District receives delivery of same,” senior executive engineer, Niamh Madden confirmed.

In recent times, two wing mirrors were broken in separate incidents at Ballinagough. Funding was allocated for works at the bridge earlier this year “but the work was not done,” Cllr Burke outlined.
