SIXMILEBRIDGE’s Mark Sheedy is set to make his National Hurling League debut for the Clare hurlers in a fresh side named for Sunday’s final round with Wexford.

Sheedy is named to start between the posts in what will be his league debut and his second appearance for the county seniors.

It is the first time ever that the Banner will have two representatives on the starting team for the Clare senior hurlers. Ronan Kilroy makes his starting debut at corner back with Shane Meehan one of the constant members of the Clare attack thus far in the NHL.

Returning from injury at either end of the field, Adam Hogan is handed the full-back berth with Peter Duggan down to play at full-forward. Seán Rynne who was unavailable until last weekend’s win over Carlow due to injury earns his spot at midfield where he partners Ryan Taylor.

David McInerney anchors the defence at centre back with Cathal Malone and Niall O’Farrell on either side of him. The experienced David Reidy is in for his third start of this year’s league while Conor Leen makes his third successive start.

One of the standout Clare players in this year’s Division 1B run has been Diarmuid Stritch, he moves from midfield to centre forward where he is flanked by Jack Kirwan and Jack O’Neill.

In total there’s six changes from the side which defeated Carlow 1-28 0-18 with Conor Cleary, Dylan McMahon, David Fitzgerald, Mark Rodgers, Jamie Moylan and Eibhear Quilligan missing out.
