SHANNON DANCERS put their best foot forward at the Irish Dancing World Championships with Patrick Considine finishing in a remarkable third position.
On Monday, four Clare dancers from the Daniel Flanagan Academy of Irish Dancing flew into Shannon Airport on a high following their exploits at the Irish Dancing World Championships in Chicago.
Patrick Considine, Hollie McKey, Teddie McKey and Alex Carew all from Shannon competed in the World Championships.
A student at St Senan’s NS in Shannon, Patrick finished third place in the U12 Boys Championship and returned home with a coveted world globe. Remarkably, Jayme O’Sullivan a teacher of Patrick’s at St Senan’s also finished in third position in the same competition back in 2011.
Alex picked up a world medal after finishing in twelfth position in the same age category.
Teacher, Daniel Flanagan was immensely proud of how all four dancers fared in the World Championships.
“To see four incredible dancers step onto the world stage at the World Irish Dancing Championships is something truly special. Each one of them carried not only extraordinary talent, but also the dedication, discipline, and heart that it takes to reach the very highest level of Irish dance,” Daniel told The Clare Echo.
