CILLIAN ROUINE returns to the starting team of the Clare senior footballers for Sunday’s showdown with Louth.

Rouine regains his place at centre back on the Clare side with Fionn Kelleher missing out in what is the only change in the team named for Sunday’s clash against the Leinster champions. He will be flanked by Alan Sweeney and Ikem Ugwueru.

Captain Cillian Brennan misses out with injury meaning Eoin Cleary once again leads his county into action. Ronan Lanigan continues at full-back with Rory McMahon set for a successive start in one corner and Manus Doherty in the other.

Emmet McMahon is listed among the substitutes, the Kildysart man was ruled out for the second round tie with Monaghan but has made steady progress with his recovery over the past fortnight. In his absence, Daniel Walsh partners Brian McNamara in midfield once again.

Between the posts, Eamon Tubridy has been given the nod in the named team. Stephen Ryan’s return to the panel had suggested he might get the goalkeeper’s jersey but there is no inclusion of the Kilrush man in the named twenty six.

Cleary leads the attack from full-forward with Aaron Griffin and Mark McInerney either side of him. Starting jerseys are retained by the Lissycasey duo of Shane Griffin and Connor Meaney, they join Dermot Coughlan in the half-forward line.

Louth have named the same team as lined out in their one point loss to Down a fortnight ago.

Clare take on Louth at 2pm in O’Moore Park, Portlaoise on Sunday where only a win will suffice.
