Requested road improvements are to be carried out in Carrowniska North.

Both Cllr Gabriel Keating (FG) and Cllr Bill Chambers (FF) tabled motions to a recent meeting of the West Clare Municipal District seeking road restoration and surface dressing on the L6170 at Carrowniska North in Kilmurry McMahon.

According to Cllr Chambers, “the residents are very worried over the condition of the road and it is in a badly needed state of repair”.

An approximate 350m section of the L6170 is included in the schedule of Municipal District Works, senior executive engineer Alan Kennelly confirmed. “The section in question will undergo restoration improvement. In addition, patching and pothole repairs have already been carried out on other sections of this road”.

Welcoming the response from the engineer, Cllr Keating issued a further appeal. “I request that where one part of the road is done, the other part is automatically put down for funding next year”.
