TWO REPEAT PAIRINGS HAVE been drawn in this year’s Clare senior football championship semi-finals.

Reigning champions Éire Óg will clash with Corofin once again while Kilmurry Ibrickane must face off with Ennistymon for the second time in this year’s championship.

When they met in the group stages, Éire Óg recorded a 3-08 0-10 win over Corofin but the North Clare side bounced back and impressed when eliminating Lissycasey from the competition on Sunday afternoon. Éire Óg equally appear on fire with Paul Madden’s charges having six points to spare in their last eight encounter with Clondegad.

A single score separated Ennistymon and Kilmurry Ibrickane when it finished 1-09 0-09 in favour of the North Clare side in the second round. Last year’s beaten finalists won’t need reminding of the result and as an already easily motivated outfit they will be doing everything in their power to overturn the result. Ennistymon will be crossing their fingers that injuries can heal in time for their last four meeting.

Draws were also held in Clareabbey for the Minor Division 2 and 3 semi-finals which are to be played on the weekend of October 15th/16th. In the event that a neutral venue cannot be found, the team drawn first will have home advantage.
