THE main Kilmaley to Ennis road has been reopened following an earlier traffic collision on the route.
A single vehicle crash occurred shortly before 1.00pm on the R474 at Gortaganniff, a townland leaving Kilmaley towards Inch known for its sharp bends.
Units of Clare County Fire and Rescue Service from Ennis station attended the incident along with National Ambulance Service paramedics and Gardaí, leading to the road which acts as a main route between Miltown Malbay and Ennis being closed for a time.
One arrival at the scene, emergency services found a car on its roof.
The female driver of the vehicle was assessed at the scene by ambulance paramedics but did not require hospitalisation.
An emergency traffic management system had been set up for a time so that crews could safely deal with the incident. The road has since reopened.
