Shane O’Donnell has been ruled out of Clare’s Munster senior hurling quarter-final with Waterford on Sunday.

The Éire Óg clubman sustained an injury in the lead-up to Clare’s final National Hurling League clash with Kilkenny. O’Donnell was not include in Brian Lohan’s twenty six for this tie.

On Tuesday night, Club Clare confirmed that the 2013 All-Ireland winning hat-trick hero would miss the Waterford game “through injury”.

O’Donnell’s absence will come as a major blow to the Banner who are already without former captain Patrick O’Connor.

Other injury concerns are to be assessed in the coming days before the matchday panel is announced.

More team news and extensive coverage will appear in this week’s Clare Echo which is available for FREE countywide and online from Thursday morning.
