Clare GAA PRO, Michael O’Connor has returned to the role ending a three week sabbatical.

Less than three weeks after issuing a statement to clubs which cited “recent pronouncements made to me regarding the functionality of the role for which I am selected each year as a volunteer”, O’Connor took time “to reflect, review, reassess and comprehend the value of my commitment to the role”.

After this period of reflection, the Crusheen man has made a comeback to the position. It followed extensive efforts from officers including Vice Chairperson, Kieran Keating to see the NUIG GAA Officer back in action.

Éire Óg delegate, Rory Hickey queried O’Connor’s position at the September meeting of the Clare County Board with Chairman, Jack Chaplin informing the meeting that O’Connor was expected to return “but that’s up to Michael”.
