A NAIL-BITING end to the season awaits in the Maloney Hardware Premier Division.

There were no slip-ups on Sunday morning as expected wins were recorded by Avenue Utd, Newmarket Celtic and Bridge Utd over Kilrush Rangers, Kilkishen Celtic and Shannon Olympic.

On Wednesday, Avenue Utd overcome Inch Crusaders with ease. Click here for match report. The win puts them on forty two points and firmly in the driving seat to retain their title.

Bridge Utd kept themselves in contention for league glory with a comprehensive 6-0 win over Kilrush Rangers. Brian Corry scored twice for the Sixmilebridge side with Ger Myles and Aidan Moloney also on target while the West Clare side also had two own goals themselves.

Lifford FC gave their bid to stay in the top flight a major shot in the arm when overcoming Shannon Olympic 2-0. The win pushes them into seventh spot, ahead of Kilrush and Olympic. Fiachra Roche and David Keenan scored for the winners.

Tulla Utd caused the shock of the evening when overcoming Newmarket Celtic. A full match report is available here.
