MARCO CLEARY struck for a hat-trick to send Éire Óg into the Clare SHC semi-finals while also earning the St Francis Credit Union / The Clare Echo player of the week.
Tied with Wolfe Tones at half time of last Sunday’s quarter-final, Éire Óg went to another level in the second half with Marco firing three goals to put them on their way to a 3-25 1-14 victory.
A fifth semi-final in eight years is the reward for the reigning champions, Marco’s ability to not alone go for goal but take his chances seeing him stand out in their latest quarter-final win.
An All-Ireland winner with Clare’s U20 hurlers this year, Marco continues to bring a bit of electricity to the Éire Óg attack where this year he is joined by his brother Luca.
