LISSYCASEYโ€™s Anne Griffin has been lauded by elected members of the Shannon Municipal District.

Anne concluded her term as senior executive officer in the Shannon MD to take up a new role in the last month within the project management office of Clare County Council.

Clare County Councilโ€™s project management office manage the design and construction of the Councilโ€™s capital programme for the county.

Cathaoirleach of the Shannon MD, Cllr Pat Oโ€™Gorman (FF) said Anne โ€œdid a great jobโ€ when serving as SEO. โ€œYou can see by the monthly management report the amount of jobs she had done, weโ€™ll be very sorry to see her go but we wish the best of luck in her new positionโ€. He added, โ€œwe had a good rapport in Shannon with Anneโ€.

Director of Services in the Shannon MD, Alan Farrell said of Anne, โ€œshe has been an absolutely fantastic public servant and has served this Municipal District extremely well over the last two years. Since I joined in January it was very clear she was very embedded in the role, she strove to get the best for the Municipal District.

Farrell confirmed that Suzie Clifford has joined the Shannon MD as meetings administrator, he welcomed her to the role and noted, โ€œyou have big shoes to fill but I look forward to working with youโ€.

According to Cllr Michael Begley (IND), โ€œAnne Griffin put in a tremendous amount of work and got really involved in the all of the projectsโ€. He said he has already met Suzie, โ€œshe has already been briefed on what is in front of herโ€.

Recalling his return to the Council in June, Cllr Tony Mulcahy (FG) recounted, โ€œthe welcome I got was second to none, the help and the advice. I got a great briefing, I great support on the way down and built up a great relationship with Anneโ€.

Donna McGettigan TD (SF) noted, โ€œAnne worked very well with us, the door was always open, she was always on the other end of the phone, Iโ€™ll miss her smiley faceโ€.

Cllr John Crowe (FG) commented, โ€œAnne was outstanding, you could contact her anytime and she would come back to you, she would sit down no matter what the problem was, she was exceptional reallyโ€.

Speaking at a meeting of Clare County Council, Cllr Mary Howard (FG) remarked, โ€œI know Anne has been a delight to deal with, I wish her well in her new roleโ€.
