Four goals in the opening twenty minutes helped Kilrush to a comfortable win over O’Currys in round two of the Garry Cup.

Played on Thursday night, the Shams showed a big improvement in round two compared with their opening round display.

Ross Phelan (2), Keith Crowley, Gearoid O’Brien and an own goal accounted for the winner’s goals in a tie in which they led 4-4 to 1-5 at half time.

The loser’s goal came from the penalty spot, converted by Thomas Clancy who also contributed a point while Eoin Troy with five and Shane Browne with three completed the West Clare side’s scoring.

This tie completed the round 2 programme of games in the football leagues
