A Kilkee business received a major boost over the weekend with plaudits from one of the country’s best known  couples.

Brian O’Driscoll and Amy Huberman’s recent stay in Co Clare didn’t capture the nation’s attention like Matt Damon’s stint in Dalkey last year but nonetheless there were many eyes watching the activity of the former Irish rugby captain and actress.

On Friday, BOD or Drico whichever takes your fancy took to Instagram to give his “final Clare thought” and he declared that the carrot cake from The Pantry in Kilkee was “world class”.

Staff at The Pantry were ecstatic with the endorsement. “He came, he tasted, he left a very happy man”. Both O’Driscoll and Huberman were a pleasure to deal with according to staff at the popular Kilkee eatery.

The Pantry was not the only Clare business to receive well wishes from the fourth most-capped player in rugby union history. The UCD graduate also took the time to wish Conor Murray well on his new venture with Morrissey’s Bar and Restaurant in Doonbeg.
