EOIN HAYES will be lining out with the Irish side to represent the country in the Regions Cup.

Newmarket-on-Fergus native Eoin was involved in Saturday’s qualifying match to determine which regional side would fly the Irish flag in the UEFA Regions Cup.

Hayes was included in the Region 1 squad managed by Ross Carrig, they had a comfortable 3-0 win, the secondary school teacher at St Anne’s Community College in Killaloe was the only Clare representative in either squad comprising of a total of forty footballers.

In October, Hayes and the Ireland side will face off against Romania, Bulgaria and San Marion in UEFA Regions Cup qualifying matches.

Named FAI Junior International of the Year in 2018, Eoin has 23 international caps to his name at amateur level while he is the holder of nine Premier Division and nine Clare Cup medals with Newmarket Celtic.
