Gardaí recover vehicle stolen in 1998 from water in Broadford

A vehicle stolen 22 years ago has been recovered from the water in Broadford.

An Garda Síochána have confirmed that their water unit was in Broadford recently where they recovered and brought to the surface a vehicle that was stolen in 1998.

Gardaí in Killaloe had spoken with a local fisherman who picked up an image on sonar equipment which put the wheels in motion for the investigation.

Members of the Water Unit were brought to the location by the fisherman. Further enquiries are to be made following the recovery of the vehicle.
