AN INVESTIGATION IS ongoing into an alleged assault at a premises in Sixmilebridge.

“Serious injuries” were sustained by a boy in Sixmilebridge on Thursday last (October 5th).

He was brought to University Hospital Limerick (UHL) for treatment of these injuries which are not life-threatening. He has since been discharged from hospital.

The Clare Echo understands that the boy is a secondary school student.

A spokesperson for An Garda Síochána outlined that they were investigating “ an alleged assault that occurred at a premises in Sixmilebridge, Co Clare, on Thursday afternoon, October 5, 2023”.

Investigations continued into the incident, Gardaí have confirmed.
