The Clare teams for this Sunday’s opening games in the Allianz Hurling and Football Leagues have been named and both include players who will be making their competitive debut at senior level.

The hurling side to face Kilkenny will be without over half of the side which started the All-Ireland final against Cork. A number of that team are currently recovering from injury while some are being rested.

The side which will be captained by David McInerney is as follows:

Eibhear Quilligan (Feakle); Ian McNamara (Killanena), Conor Leen (Corofin), Adam Hogan (Feakle); Darragh Lohan (Wolfe Tones), David McInerney (Tulla), Cian Galvin (Clarecastle);  Ryan Taylor (Clooney-Quin) Cathal Malone (Sixmilebridge); Patrick Crotty (Scariff), David Conroy (St Josephs), Sean Rynne (Inagh-Kilnamoa); Shane Meehan (Banner), Aron Shanagher (Wolfe Tones), David Reidy (Eire Og).

This game gets underway at Cusack Park in Ennis at 2pm.

Meanwhile the football team to face Antrim in Corrigan Park in Belfast has also been announced and it is:

Eamonn Tubridy (Doonbeg); Manus Doherty (Eire Og), Cillian Brennan (Clondegad), Cillian Rouine (Ennistymon); Ikem Ugwueru (Eire Og), Fionn Kelleher (St Josephs), Alan Sweeney (St Breckans); Brian McNamara (Cooraclare) Sean McAllister (Clondegad); Eoin Cleary (Miltown St. Josephs), Emmett McMahon (Kildysart), Daniel Walsh (Kilmurry-Ibrickane); Ciaran Downes (Kilmihil), Aaron Griffin (Lissycasey), Keelan Sexton (Kilmurry-Ibrickane).

This game will throw in at 1pm.
