Repeated calls for the installation of VMS signs at Spancilhill have been issued.

Cllr Clare Colleran Molloy (FF) issued a motion at a recent meeting of the Ennis Municipal District which she noted was a previous request that asked for the installation of VMS signs at Spancilhill.

Additional speed surveys have been completed adjacent to Spancilhill Cross, senior executive engineer Eamon O’Dea confirmed, the findings of which have been forwarded to An Garda Síochána.

“We have requested the Council’s road design office to examine the accident data in the area between Kilfelim Cross and Spancilhill Cross with the intention of submitting a low cost safety proposal for additional signage with this section of the R352,” O’Dea stated.

A further conversation on the matter will take place, Cllr Colleran Molloy told the meeting while her appeal was seconded by Cllr Johnny Flynn (FG).
