EMPLOYEES at Ei Electronics, one of Shannon’s largest employers and global leaders in life safety products, have
been taking part in a series of community-focused events at the Company’s Shannon campus in recent weeks.
The summer programme has included a Family Fun Day, the Annual Charity Run in aid of Cliona’s Foundation, and the return of the Company’s five-a-side “Battle of the Bays” football tournament.
The Family Fun Day, held on Saturday, June 20th, welcomed employees and their families for a day of entertainment and activities. Blessed with favourable weather, the event featured a range of attractions including a mini petting zoo, inflatables, bouncy castles, children’s races, a fire truck display and an ice cream van. Food stalls serving barbecue favourites and smash burgers ensured there was something for everyone throughout the afternoon.
The occasion provided colleagues from across the business with an opportunity to spend time together outside of the workplace while families enjoyed a relaxed and sociable atmosphere.
Supporting the wider community also remained a key focus, with Ei Electronics hosting its annual Charity Run on-site in aid of Cliona’s
Foundation. The charity provides practical financial assistance to families caring for children with life-limiting illnesses or complex care needs, helping to ease the financial burden associated with their child’s care.
The fundraiser follows last year’s successful event, which supported prostate cancer awareness and services, and continues the Company’s tradition of supporting worthwhile charitable causes.
Sporting competition also returned to the campus with the annual ‘Battle of the Bays’ five-a-side football tournament. Teams from across the Company competed on the on-site astro turf in a series of friendly but competitive matches, providing another opportunity for employees to connect outside of their day-to-day roles.

of friendly competition, it really reflects the strong sense of community we have here on campus.”
