AT the fourth attempt Kilmurry Ibrickane and Kilrush Shamrocks got their third round game in the Cusack cup played on Saturday afternoon and it’s probably one that Kilrush would like to forget.

Kilmurry Ibrickane 3-25
Kilrush Shamrocks 2-3
Venue: Clarecastle

Original fixtures on Thursday (April 2), Saturday (April 4) and Friday (April 10) had all been cancelled due to unplayable pitches before Saturday’s game went ahead at Clarecastle’s 4G pitch.

It proved to be a one sided affair as Kilmurry Ibrickane dominated from start to finish. They were 1-14 to 1-1 in front at the halfway point and they continued to dominate in the second period.

Jason Cussen scored their first half goal in a tie that saw Cathal Talty kick three two pointers in the space of a few minutes.

Eight players shared in the winners tally while just three players got on the scoresheet for Kilrush who remain pointless in the competition.

Kilrush’s cause wasn’t helped by the fact that they finished with thirteen after Conor Fennell (second yellow) and Ben McKiernan (black card) spent the closing minutes in the dugout.
