CLARE TD, Donna McGettigan (SF) held the official opening for her constituency office on Monday evening.

Nineteen months on from becoming a TD, Deputy McGettigan was surrounded by friends and supporters with Sinn Féin’s deputy Dáil leader and finance spokesperson, Pearse Doherty TD (SF) in attendance to cut the ribbon.

Donna said, “It was an honour to have Pearse Doherty officially open our office last night. It was a bigger honour to have those who helped get us to where we are now being in attendance. This would not have been possible only for a small but mighty team of people”.

A spokesperson for Sinn Féin stated that the party’s :constituency offices are rooted in local communities in towns and cities across Ireland, offering vital support and services”.

Opening of Donna’s office was “an historic day following Donna’s election as the first ever Sinn Féin TD for Shannon. Politics is about doing your best to make a positive difference in people’s lives, and that is what Sinn Féin do every single day”.

Though this week marked the official opening, Deputy McGettigan and her team have been working out of the constituency office in Shannon since the middle of last May.
