FOOTPATHS by the Ballyalla Lake amenity are to be inspected by local authority officials over the coming weeks.

Citing health and safety interests, Cllr Johnny Flynn (FG) asked for a condition survey to be carried out on the surfaces of public footpaths at Ballyalla Lake “in order to plan and schedule surface restoration or repair where necessary to prevent accidents”.

Acting senior executive officer, Barry Conway confirmed that the Ennis Municipal District would arranged to inspect the footpaths. “The repair of any defects identified will be scheduled shortly thereafter”.

Support for the request was voiced by Cllr Paul Murphy (FG) and Cllr Ann Norton (IND).
