Less than a week after their first outing in the 2021 Clare SFC, Kilrush Shamrocks have been handed a setback with manager Aidan Daly suddenly stepping down from the role.

The Clare Echo has learned that Daly resigned as Kilrush manager in the days subsequent to their six point defeat to Kilmihil on Saturday. The twenty one time champions are paired in Group 2 alongside St Breckans and St Josephs Doora/Barefield.

Remaining members of the management are to remain following Daly’s departure. Kevin Shalloo will continue as trainer with selectors Noel Ryan and Michael Griffin plus performance coach Tom Dillon all committed to the Shams cause for the campaign.

Daly was in his second year as manager of the Kilrush senior side. Prior to this, he managed Lissycasey at senior level.

Second round ties in Group 1 of the Clare SFC take place this Saturday in Cusack Park with Kilmurry Ibrickane taking on Ennistymon while Cratloe face St Josephs Miltown.
