Clare’s McGrath Cup clash with Waterford has been postponed due to a high amount of COVID-19 close contacts in the Déise camp.

On Friday evening, Munster GAA confirmed that the Group A McGrath Cup match between Clare and Waterford has been postponed.

“Waterford are unable to field a team due to a number of Covid cases and close contacts as well as a number of injuries,” a spokesperson for Munster GAA confirmed.

No walkover has been issued with officials hopeful of announcing a refixture.

Colm Collins’ side are due to host Cork on January 6th at Hennessy Memorial Park in Miltown with the Rebels meeting Waterford on January 11th in Páirc Uí Rinn.

January 15th has been provisionally set as the date for the final of the 2022 McGrath Cup.
