A YOUNG social media influencer from County Clare is in with a chance to appear on a television show with 50 million global viewers.

Ella Deasy (20) has the potential to join global phenonium Mr Beast on his Amazon Prime tv show, Beast Games. The gameshow which sees the overall victor win a $5 million cash prize, is its third season, with this year’s theme being ‘One Person from Every Country on Earth’.

Ella stumbled into a TikTok career by posting videos with her two sisters, Zara and Tori. The three sisters posted videos on TikTok aiming to promote their parent’s shop, Deasy’s Centra, in Clarecastle, which the family recently sold.

“It wasn’t even planned. I feel like we just started making videos for fun. I think my parents were looking for staff at the time and then we were making posts and people loved them, and then it kind of just fell into place,” Ella tells The Clare Echo.

Combined the three sisters, they amass a near 500k followers on TikTok.

‘Mr Beast’ is one of the world’s most famous and powerful internet stars and his team reached out to Ella in January to apply for the show. Ella admits she initially thought it was a scam. “They just said they love my content and thought I would be a good fit,” says Ella, noting that she entered “thinking nothing of it”. “Then I just kept getting on to the next stage of it and I was like wait, this might actually go somewhere”.

Ella is up with a chance to represent Ireland in the television show. The show is loosely based off the South Korean hit television series ‘Squid Games’, the show puts an emphasis on testing human limits physically, mentally and socially.

The contestants on the show compete in a number of mental and physical challenges to be up for the chance to win a $5 million cash prize, the largest amount cash prize to ever be won on a game show.

Ella admits, “I’d love, obviously to win the money, but I think even the experience itself would be insane.
“I think to be chosen to represent not only Clare, but Ireland would be insane”.

Ella also laughs that there was no rivalry between her sisters for the spot on the TV show, “Tori, it’s not her vibe whatsoever, so she really did not care at all. I also don’t think it would be a bit of Zara either.

I think they were like, ‘we’ll let Ella have this, like it’s a bit of her’.”

Social media has already helped open a world of opportunities to Ella, most notably her job with clothing company, Bound Apparel.

Ella applied to become their social media intern, which has now turned into a fulltime job with them.

Although Ella has received an overwhelming amount of positivity back from her content online and is one of Ireland’s fastest growing influencers, negative and scrutiny also finds a way to seep through, especially when posting online.

Ella explains “Honestly, I think not reading the comments is nearly the best thing to do, because once you start reading comments, it can really get to you.”

Despite the negativity, Ella urges anyone who wants to give content creation a shot, to just go for it, “I honestly think just start posting, even posting three times a week and then you can obviously start posting every day and then, start reaching out to brands”
