Clare GAA are moving into the digital world with the debut of a streaming service this weekend.

It has been confirmed that on Saturday, Clare GAA TV will stream live from Cusack Park on YouTube the second round clash of reigning Clare SHC champions Ballyea versus 2017 winners Sixmilebridge.

As it attempts to increase the profile and reach of the local championships, Clare GAA will make games available to view online for the Banner diaspora in Ireland and further afield via a dedicated online TV channel.

Earlier this year, the County Board allowed The Clare Champion stream matches in the U21 hurling championship. However as reported by The Clare People last week, this arrangement has been shelved on the back of advice from GAA authorities who are preferential to a service operated by the GAA themselves as opposed to a media partner.

Officers discussed the matter at a meeting last week.
