Less than five new cases of COVID-19 have been recorded in Co Clare.

Clare’s figures remain among the lowest in Ireland. 41 cases have been diagnosed in the past fortnight while a 14 day incidence rate of 34.5 has been outlined by the Department of Health.

Three electoral areas in Clare – Ennis, Ennistymon and Kilrush have seen the 14 day incidence rate drop to levels previously seen in the summer time. 

Nationally, 313 new cases of COVID-19 were reported across the country. 70 of these are in Dublin, 31 in Mayo, 21 in Kilkenny, 19 in Donegal, 18 in Laois and the remaining 154 cases are spread across 19 other counties including less than five in Clare. 

An additional three deaths have been notified to the Health Protection Surveillance Centre There has been a total of 2,120 Coronavirus related deaths in Ireland.

As of 2pm today 197 COVID-19 patients are hospitalised, of which 35 are in ICU. 12 additional hospitalisations in the past 24 hours.
