Less than five new cases of COVID-19 have been diagnosed in Clare as it continues to account for among the lowest spread of the virus nationally.

On Monday evening, NPHET stated that less than five new cases had been reported in the county, they are among the 403 nationally, 174 are in Dublin, 34 in Meath, 20 in Kildare, 18 in Mayo, 16 in Cork and the remaining 141 cases are spread across 20 other counties.

Clare’s 14 day incidence rate per 100k of the population at 38.7 is the third lowest in the Republic of Ireland.

No new deaths related to the virus are known in the country.

As of 8am today, 183 COVID-19 patients are hospitalised, of which 50 are in ICU. 7 additional hospitalisations occurred in the past 24 hours.

Latest vaccine data from April 17th has noted that 1,204,063 doses of COVID-19 vaccine have been administered in Ireland, 351,874 people have received both doses.
