EIGHT CLARE CLUBS begin their FAI Junior Cup campaigns this Sunday.

There are two all-Clare meetings while Avenue Utd are the only side heading outside the county as the action in the national competition commences.

Five Clare clubs are competing in the first round of the FAI Junior Cup while Fern Celtic and Bunratty Cratloe clash in the second round, their tie kicking off at 10:30 in Tiermaclane.

In what is one of the standout games of the weekend, Ennis Dons welcome Tulla Utd to St Flannan’s College for their 10:30 clash in the first round. It’s later kick-offs for the remainder of games.

Newmarket Celtic welcome Limerick Desmond League outfit, Athea Utd to McDonough Memorial Park as they look to extend their unbeaten run this season with the game commencing at 13:30.

Kerry opposition stand in the paths of Avenue Utd, Shannon Olympic and Mountshannon Celtic from progressing to the second round. Avenue Utd make the journey to Pat Kennedy Park to face Listowel, Olympic entertain St Brendan’s in Shannon while Killarney Athletic are heading to East Clare, all games are down for 14:00.

Three games are down for decision in the Ennis Carpets Clare Cup. Scheduled to take place for the third time but moved to Ennistymon is the meeting of Sporting Ennistymon and Fair Green Celtic at 10:30 in the second round. At 13:30, Ennis Dons B host Hermitage B in St Flannan’s while the meeting of Shannon Town C and Rhine Rovers has been postponed. Shannon Town B have a fine backlog of games to get through, they face Tulla Utd B in the third round at 10:30 in Corrib Drive.

Premier Division is the focus of Bridge Utd for the second week running and they welcome neighbours Shannon Town to Sixmilebridge for a 14:00 kick-off.
