Kilmaley got the defence of their Clare Cup title off to a winning start when they proved too strong for Broadford at the St. Patrickโs grounds in Limerick on Friday night.

In the opening game of the domestic adult competitive season, they led from the outset against their East Clare opponents and first half goals from Daire Keane and Conor Neylon sent them on their way.
They led by ten points, 2-9 to 0-5, at the halfway point in a tie in which Michael OโMalley top scored with 0-10 to his credit, 0-6 coming from placed balls.
Eight players shared in the teamโs impressive tally in their first game under newly appointed coach Brian Culbert from Sixmilebridge.
The game was brought forward by agreement between the clubs and the remaining first round games in this competition will take place next weekend.
