TWO people are to appear before Ennis District Court following the seizure of suspected herbal cannabis worth an estimated €620,000.

Revenue officers at Shannon Airport seized approximately 31kg of suspected herbal cannabis on Monday.

There is an estimated value of €620,000 to the seized drugs. The seized drugs will be sent to Forensic Science Ireland (FSI) for analysis.

One male (aged in his 30s) and one female (aged in her 40s) were arrested by Gardaí attached to the Clare Divisional Drugs Unit. They were detained under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act 1996 at a Garda Station in the Clare-Tipperary Division.

They have since been charged in relation to this investigation and are due to appear before Ennis District Court on Wednesday 13th May 2026 at 10:30am.

Investigations are ongoing.
