“BUDGET PERMITTING,” the Line Road in Cratloe will be considered in the 2022 surface dressing programme, Council engineers have stated.

An appeal for surface repairs and drainage “to the road known locally as the Line Road between the Gullet Cross and Poulawilly Bridge” in Cratloe was made by Cllr PJ Ryan (IND) at a recent sitting of the Shannon Municipal District.

Senior executive engineer, Tom Mellett confirmed, “it is the intention of the Shannon Municipal District office to include this road in the 2022 surface dressing programme, budget permitting”.

Cllr Ryan highlighted that “quite a lot of water” flowing onto the road “has damaged the surface” in recent years. The response from the local authority was hailed by Cllr Pat O’Gorman (FF).
