Ex Limerick football captain, Seanie Buckley is to coach the Éire Óg senior footballers this year.

A leading light with the Limerick footballers for over a decade up until his inter-county retirement in January 2018, the Dromcollogher-Broadford clubman is a new addition to the management of the Ennis club for 2021.

Now a Limerick City based Garda, Buckley was stationed for a number of years in Ennistymon.

Paul Madden will continue as manager of the Ennis club in what will be his fifth season in the role. The hotelier will be joined by former players Shane Daniels and Peter Cosgrove as selectors while the outgoing Tom Russell and Rory O’Brien will continue as part of the background team. O’Brien was part of the club’s senior championship winning team in 2006.

Outgoing selectors including 2006 Clare SFC winning captain Alan Malone, 1992 Munster SFC winner James Hanrahan and two-time All-Ireland SHC winner Stephen McNamara will not be part of the management this year.
