BUS SHELTERS at existing stops in Cratloe are to be requested from the National Transport Authority (NTA).

Clare County Council’s road design office are to make the plea as part of their Bus Shelter Programme that will be circulated to the NTA.

It follows a proposal from Cllr Pat O’Gorman (FF) before the Shannon Municipal District asking that the present bus stops on either side of the dual carriageway at Setights Cross be equipped with shelters.

Speaking at a recent Shannon MD meeting, Cllr O’Gorman commented, “It is an awful thing to pass and see children getting ready to go to school in Limerick and they are getting soaked waiting for the bus”. He remarked of the shelters, “I hope when they are put in that they are lit up”.

His bid was supported by both Cllr PJ Ryan (IND) and Cllr John Crowe (FG).
