South-East Clare has had the most cases of COVID-19 across the entire county while it has been confirmed that 32 residents of the county have died from the virus.

For the first time, the amount of COVID-19 deaths in Co Clare have been revealed. The Central Statistics Office have confirmed that 32 people have lost their lives in the county because of the virus. It is in the top half of counties for most amount of deaths as Clare ranks with the eleventh highest tally. 82 is the median age of the individuals to have died in Clare.

A geographic breakdown of cases per county has also been released. The Central Statistics Office on Friday published detail on the location of confirmed cases in each county. As part of this, the CSO broke down areas by electoral division, of which there are 151 in Clare.

The Clare Echo has studied the publication and has outlined the amount of cases per division as provided in the CSO research. 9 of the 151 areas account for over 60% of all cases in the county.

Meelick, Parteen, Ardnacrusha and Killaloe have had the highest amount of diagnoses. This is linked to outbreaks in nursing homes in Killaloe and Meelick.
