A CLONLARA boy has died following an incident at a swimming pool in Killaloe.

Aged seven years old, the boy was rushed by ambulance from the Lakeside Hotel & Leisure Centre before 3pm on Saturday afternoon.

Gardaí and emergency services responded to the scene of the incident at the swimming pool of the hotel in Killaloe and the boy was rushed via ambulance to University Hospital Limerick (UHL) where he was later pronounced dead.

An Garda Síochána have said the county coroner has been notified and arrangements are underway to facilitate a post-mortem examination. According to reports, the boy was recovered from the water unconscious.
