The deadline for entry into the spring league at Woodstock has been extended to next weekend. Entries must now be in by 9pm on this Sunday, February 20. The league will begin on the weekend of February 26/27.

Last week’s modified team of four with two scores to count was won by Joe Hurley (12), Brian Keogh (9), Donal Lynch (17) and Michael O’Neill (20) with 93 points. They were followed by Cathal Nagle (8), Noel Moloney (13), John Dempsey (14) and Eugene Killeen (14) with 87 points.

This weekend the competition will be a modified waltz where all players drive off, then pick the best drive and play your own ball from there on until holed. The scoring format will be one score to count at the first, two scores to count at the second, three scores to count at the third and repeat this sequence from there to the finish

Ennis Golf Club:
Betty O’Reilly (36) was the winner of the ladies 14 hole stableford competition at Ennis last week with 23 points. Kitty Morris (15), also with 23 points was in second place a point ahead of Joan Murphy (32).

In the 9 hole competition Geraldine O’Mahoney (27) was third with 16 points followed by Alice Darcy (43), also with 16 points with Mary Leahy (30) in third spot with 15 points,

In the senior ladies competition last week, the winners were Mary Lenihan, Carmel Cummins and Maureen Maloney with 52.3 and they were followed by Brid Cunningham and Liz Kelly with 57.3.

Kilrush Golf Club:

This week’s spring weekly singles at Kilrush was won by John Stapleton (14) with 30 points from Noel Thornton (12) with 28 points. In third spot, also with 28 points, was Aeneas O’Connor (14).

Shannon Golf Club:
Thomas Nelson (19) was the winner of the 15 hole singles at Shannon last week with 39 points. He had two to spare over second placed Liam Hovey (21). This week’s Winter league format is scotch foursomes
