CLARE’S senior hurlers first outing of 2022 will now take place on Saturday in Cusack Park.
Brian Lohan’s charges had been due to face Waterford on Friday night at O’Garney Park in Sixmilebridge but the fixture which is the Co-Op Superstores Munster Hurling Cup Semi-Final is now scheduled for a 1:30pm throw-in at Cusack Park in Ennis.
If the sides finish level at the end of normal time, there will be a penalty shootout with no extra time preceding this.
Munster GAA are to stream the game online via munster.gaa.ie with supporters hoping to travel to the game advised that they must book their tickets in advance on munster.gaa.ie
Over the weekend, Clare beat UL’s Fitzgibbon Cup side in a challenge match. All Star nominee Rory Hayes lined out at centre back in this outing with Robin Mounsey making his first appearance for the senior side. Inagh/Kilnamona’s Eamonn Foudy has been retained on the panel and featured between the posts in this game.
Darragh Lohan of Wolfe Tones, Shane Meehan of The Banner and Broadford’s Paddy Donnellan are among the less-established players expected to feature in Saturday’s clash against Liam Cahill’s Waterford.
