Tromora Danny got back to winning ways for owner David Hogan in Limerick in what was a successful weekend for Clare trainers and owners.

At the Limerick Track on Saturday night last, Tromora Danny got back to winning ways in race six for owner David Hogan of Quilty. In this 350-yard contest, Tromora Danny broke best of all from trap six and from here, the son of Ballymac Best and Tromora Bliss made every inch of the running to come home four lengths clear of Carrigmore Robin in second. The time was a swift 18.83.

There was another Clare success in the 350-yard ninth contest which was landed by Runontheinside who claimed his second win from his last three starts. Owned by Darren Cooney of Oโ€™Callaghans Mills and trained by Donal Cooney, Runontheinside broke well from trap three and after a closely run affair, the son of Ballymac Vic and Glenlee got the better of Fionns Emirate by half a length. The time was a rapid 18.70.

Race five at the Galway Track on Friday night went to the Pat Hogan of Ennis owned and Donal Duggan of Tulla trained Aulton Jenny who led at the crown of the home bend on her way to her second career success from four starts by a length and a half over Peteles Lord in 30.05. Peteles Lord led on the run to the opening bend from Dynamic Twinkle with the eventual winner in third place. Along the back Peteles Lord led by over four lengths but leaving the back the winner a daughter of Ballymac Best and Portumna West swept through to lead on the rails before staying on gamely up the straight.

On the long trek towards the opening bend in race seven for this A5 graded 550 Yards contest, the John Browne of Ballyea owned Rathmeehan Dier (Droopys Sydney-Coolavanny Spice) showed plenty of pace as he led Cloondarone Lady by three lengths at the bend with Beslow La back in third place. Turning down the back, Rathmeehan Dier led Cloondarone Lady and the pair began to leave their rival in their wake. Approaching the penultimate bend though Rathmeehan Dier was on complete control as he stayed in well all the way to the line to score by three lengths in 30.46.

In race four at the College Road Venue on Saturday night as the greyhounds raced towards the opening bend in this A8 graded affair Poles Apart led towards the outside with Codigo and Cuilbeg Mo Crois also in the firing line as they rounded the bend. Turning down the back Codigo switched inside to take over in front but leaving the back straight the wide running Poles Apart began to close once again on the lead. Off the home bend Poles Apart moved up on the outside to strike the front and the John Maloney of Clarecastle owned daughter of Coolavanny Jap & Ciss Baby prevailed by a length and a half at the line in 29.84.

There was a dramatic finish to race eleven an A4 graded contest as the Gerry Manley of Cratloe owned Confused Hassett got back up on the line to short head Come On Charlie in 29.46. Smartly into his stride Confused Hassett showed pace to lead from Breaghmore Patch and Come On Charlie rounding the opening bend. Racing down the back the order remained the same but rounding the home bend Come On Charlie raced through to head Confused Hassett but the winner responded well to claim the prize by the minimum margin.
