Two men arrested following the detection of drugs worth €50,000 are to appear before Limerick District Court this morning.

On Friday, Gardaí arrested two men, one in his mid-forties and the other in his late fifties. It followed an ongoing investigation into the activities of criminal groups involved in the sale and supply of controlled drugs and related criminal activity in Mid-West Region.

Both men are to appear before Limerick District Court on Monday morning, they were charged over the weekend.

As part of this operation which led led by Divisional Drugs Units from Clare and Limerick with assistance of the ASU and other local units, suspected cannabis worth €50,000 was seized by Gardaí during a search of a wooded area by Clarecastle.

Follow up searches at a number of locations in Ennis saw approximately €2000 of suspected cocaine and drug dealing paraphernalia obtained.
