Minor repairs will be undertaken on a Kilnaboy road despite its omission from this year’s schedule of municipal district works (SMDW).

A review of the L5250 is to be carried out, senior executive engineer Enda MacNamara stated at a recent meeting of the West Clare Municipal District.

“Although resurfacing of the L5250 is not included in the proposed Schedule of Municipal District Works 2021, minor repairs can be carried out,” he confirmed. MacNamara added, “The intersection will be reviewed and put forward for a low cost safety scheme if deemed suitable to achieve adequate sight lines”.

Cllr Joe Killeen (FF) had appealed to the local authority to carry out improvements to both the road surface and edges of the road “to include the setback of the road boundary to improve the sightlines at the southern side of the intersection of the L5250 and the R476 in Kilnaboy”.

Once an individual assesses the location they will become aware of the small bit of work required, Killeen maintained. He expressed his confidence some form of improvements would be implemented. Cllr Joe Garrihy (FG) seconded the proposal.
